Fashion at The Victoria and Albert Museum

I decided to visit the V&A Museum and get some inspiration from their costume/fashion department that looks at 19th, 20th and 21st century fashion and how it has changed over the years. From looking at the changes in fashion and how it has developed, I discovered that one things has remained the same over the years: the detail within all the different types of clothing. Some specific items of clothing that I found interesting was the waistcoats and dresses (above) that were worn in the late 1800's because of the elaborate collars and the embroidery that was seen as 'casual' as opposed to 'formal' like we would see it today. This also lead me to notice how sloppy people's appearances have become over the years which is also something that I could document in my work.
